It's more expensive than a TS reissue, but if I save you the hassle of buying several other ODs in between the TS and the Centaur, it's worth your money for sure.
Keep in mind that the Centaur Horsey-Man, besides costing the same as a decent small amp, isn't a Tubescreamer and doesn't act or sound like a tubescreamer. It IS a very good OD (though overhyped and obviously overpriced, imho), but it's a different beast.

I'm a Cochrane Timmy man myself - cost half as much as a Klon with more tonal variety available and in a nice, small package. Plus, Paul Cochrane is one of the nicest builders I've ever come across.

I hear lots of praise of the Tim pedal, but have no clue what it has to offer.

Most of the drive pedals I've heard seem to help amps like Fenders that have a
great clean tone, but always seem to have trouble getting a really good OD lead tone
unless the amp is really cooking.

I'm sure there's more to it for some players, but like I said,
I'm finding that better amps sound just fine without any pedals at all.

I was able to try the "Green Screamer" from BBE the other day. Thats a very cool OD pedal. Not anywhere near as grainy as the current TS-9s or Ibanez 808 reissue. Worth checking out for $99.

I just got an OCD and am really liking it. Still interested in the tube screamer and probably will get one of those too!

The Danelectro Daddy O still gets used more by me than the TS-808RI,
but both pedals spend most of their time boxed up lately since I'm really
enjoying the natural tones I'm getting through my amps these days.
