| AMPEG SVT wierd fuse blowing! Hi I am loooking at an SVT which for 99% of the time works perfectly (except the graphic EQ section when 'in' adds a fair amount of hum). The problem is that it blows the mains fuse (correct anti-surge type) every now and again. I have had this thing on the bench running with a CD on the input for 3 days loud enough to be clipping (into a resistor load!!) and it runs fine. Take it on a gig and it will take a fuse out after 2 songs playing 'moderately'. At clipping it kicks out about 320 Watts into 2 ohms and is consuming about 900 Watts of mains but I can't get anywhere near taking out the mains fuse 'on the bench'. Anyone with any practical ideas? | It sounds like the added vibration of live performance is triggering some sort of loose connection. Mine had a problem blowing some sort of diode and then later the transformer went. Never once blew a fuse in all that time.
