Thread Starter | Re-Finishing A Guitar
I'm working on re-finishing a fender p bass right now, and I'm wondering about what kind of paint to finish it with. I just want a basic looking solid color finish, nothing fancy, I'll probably do a vintage white color. Here's a pic of the look I'm going for. Anybody know what kind of paint to use for this basic look? What about primer?

Nitrocellulose paint is where it's at. Except it's a bit toxic....you'll need a good mask. There's some good info and supplies here. I used primer, sea foam green, and clear coat in spray cans from these guys and got a pretty good finish. Here's some pics of what I did. It's all in the progressive sanding and rubbing compounds. good luck! |
