There was an article about Joe Barresi recording 'Lullabies To Paralyze' in the July 2005 issue of Sound On Sound magazine, but it doesn't really say what amps were used. However, Barresi has 75 different amps (35 combos and 40 heads) to chose from, as well as 250 guitar pedals! He split the guitar signal with a Little Labs PCP to six different amps and recorded all of them. 90 percent of the guitar trackss were done with hollow-body electric guitars, which were sometimes miced for their acoustic sound, as well. Microphones were mainly SM57 and MD421 along with 414s, U87s and Royer 122 backed up a foot to capture some of the room sound. Preamps were Neve 1272 into the desk, and then via Api 550 or Quad Eight EQ to the multitrack.

Yep. I've got a VT40 (60watt version in a 4x10 combo) that nails their sound. Go into the normal channel with a 335 and it just kills.

Really, any bass amp from that era might get you close......fliptop, SVT or even some of the Sunn stuff is right on as well.

Another one that's easier to find is the Ampeg V4B. That gets it too, but at roughly 120 watts or so, it's a monster.
