Unknown guitarhead

unknown-guitarhead-trace-elliot-grp3-custom-amp.jpg

Hi, just bought something and got this head for free with it. It has 3 channels, gate, reverb, compressor, tube and a tuner. Oh yeah it is stereo too.

Cannot seem to find it.

It's a trace elliot with a GR-P3 pre amp and a CA-160S stereo (2x80w) stereo end amp build into this head.

On harmony central I read something about a customhead by Trace elliot wich fit the discription. But who knows...

I mailed the factory, and I mailed here and there. WIthout any feedback...

Thanks in advance.

You've already found all the info. Trace Elliot would combine pre amps with power amps so you'd end up with something like an AH200GP7, or a 200 watt amp w/ 7-band EQ preamp.

Hi Tom,

You are discribing a bass amp. Mine is a guitar amp. Was that the same ? Then, at Kaman/ Trace elliot?

My G-ca160-s feeds internally the GR-P3. So it was a system, a complete guitarhead. There is allso the G-PA160-s, but mine has no knobs, it is hidden behind a cooler.

Ah OK you found the matching cab.

Ask Richie Sambora --- He used to use those

IIRC it has 3 x Celestion V30s and produces a nice spread-out sound.

How does it sound?

John Entwistle used different combinations including trace elliot power amps(ra500) through 1985 and the 90's.
