I Gots The Broken Hearted Blues Deluxe Blues

Well folks it looks like my Blues Deluxe re-issue is hosed.
In fact quite literally thanks to one of my wife's freeking cats. dfegad

The local, highly respected Fender Guru went through it, replaced a bunch of burnt up components, but to no avail, the motherboard is trashed.

So I may have lost my mind, but we decided to gut the chassis and he's going to custom build me a hand wired class A/AB Deluxe/Reverb from scratch.

This is going to be a back burner project, but I'll let you know how it turns out.

We figure the replacement will be about 37+/_ watts and we're probably going to
go for a half power switch to run at 18 watts.
Sort of on the level of a Fender ÷13 hybrid.

With the credit he's giving me for the failed repair, it will probably run me about
$1200.00

I have an original blues deluxe and it getting fried is the BEST THING that ever happenned if it means your getting a hand wired/ custom job....

I bought a 1959 princeton and the blues deluxe is a effects holder now....

Man...
That sounds expensive!

What is being kept?
If you reuse the cabinet, chassis, and possibly the
transformer, then the most expensive components are
taken care of.

You could buy a populated board for a deluxe reverb or some
similar amp for around $200 and pay someone another $200
to wire it in.

I agree though, I really can't stand the lifeless, flat tone of
a Blues Deluxe. Compared to a real Deluxe Reverb, its just
a dog.

I'm still considering my options, but supposedly this would be a hand wired,
point to point Blues Deluxe with reverb.

I have to see what happens with this year's tax return, if I get one.

I'm still VERY interested in the รท13 amps, but that's talking double.

I've been using my Blues Deluxe re-issue for both guitar and bass and hope that any
replacement would serve me as well or better.

Otherwise, I'm looking at vintage hand wired Fender or something else.
