Santo & Johnny Slide Guitar

Hi, I've been playing guitar for the greater part of 10 years, but I don't know a thing about steel slide.

What was the guitar that Santo & Johnny used for "Sleepwalk"? I need to find a steel guitar that emulates that kind of slide guitar sound?

If you are talking about the "slide" part, that is a triple pedal steel and not a lap steel or slide guitar part. Look for a pic of their album covers. Those guys were amazing and I believe they wrote that song themselves (with their dad!)

I love Santo & Johnny and yes their slide guitar was actually a Fender Pedal steel guitar, great sound, I love their "Beatles songs" albums, their version of "And I love her" it's a classic, also their "Fool of the hill", I think Johnny is still around playing their old hits.

Best regards.

The Fender triple-neck "non" pedal steel was the Stringmaster. Noone has ever made a triple neck pedal steel.

Our band backed up Johnny a few years ago in Northern New York State...at that show he used a single Fender steel, no pedal model if I recall....a real gentleman, had some great stories of the old days...he was dabbling in home recording at the time, don't know if he still is...got him to autograph an 8 X 10 that I keep in the studio...think he asked for our promo signed as well, probably just to be polite !!!
