Vintage Plexi repair?

My guitarist Ronnie has a very very early plexi. It belonged to Fred Walecki of Westwood Music who told us it was played on hundreds of hit records including tracks by The Byrds and Buffalo Springfield. The amp sounds amazing and it was Ronnie's main recording amp till it blew up. Fred got Sampson from Matchless to fix it but it blew up again. Apparently it now needs a major overhaul.

Since Ronnie loves Reinhardt amps he's probably going to give it to Bob Reinhardt to fix.

But I thought i would ask if anyone had any suggestions. You know, first of all we're scared that someone might screw up the job, or steal a rare component.

Most of the really good plexi guys are backed up for months with jobs for Eddie or which ever other guitar legend they mainly rely on and getting your amps back from them ought to be a video game its such a challenge!

no, he's very careful about his gear. this isn't a volume or abuse issue, just a really old amp.

a few experts told us this would be a big ticket repair.
