Link Wray was around for awhile so I'm sure it's possible he played more than one guitar, but was his signature sound the Longhorn? Or was it more diverse?

Are you thinking Dick Dale? He has a sparkly strat. Link played a number of different guitars. But in the beginning he played one of these a lot.
