congrats from oz

Wasn't there a thread somewhere to vote the gearslut of the year?

I think the winner has presented himself, even without the duality...

Unprecedented, especially for a private studio!

Good on 'ya mate!!!

You deserve it.

Cheers,

Louis

The smart one's:

"We're gonna have sore asses when we get the bill"

The dumb one's:

"Do you have Pro Tools?"

You need to add the words "GAME OVER" to the "tags" section on this thread.

I'm gonna go ahead and value that wall at around a half a million dollars.

Of course, when you put it all together on one wall, it looks like a million bucks even.

Amazing. Simply amazing.

I keep seeing this beautiful woman around town where I usually hang out, that I have had a serious crush on for over a year now.

I get that same warm and fuzzy feeling looking at your wall of power.

I will agree, you are in fact a GearSlut.

Now you just need some killer mic stands to go with all of that outboard gear.

hey! i'm in the process of buying some land in the mayan jungle where the plan is to build a house and a... studio! also that everything will be running on solar energy and turbines. i also understand there are some guys that run plants with converted diesel engines, so the fuel is used cooking oil! yep, cook up some fries, go make a record!

just checked out the solarenergy site. thanks!

after last year's hurricane, i'll leave the beach to the tourists. we're in the jungle baby... miles from the beach, jaguars, monkeys, tall trees, pretty much hurricane proof. but then there's forest fires.

BTW my vote for slut of the year unequivocally goes to armando (delcosmos). here i am agonizing over an AWS or Icon and he goes and gets a Duality. pffft!

That's awesome Raal, good job! I’m super interested in Mayan culture and the year 2012 if you get my drift... And I’m also writing up plans to build an almost completely “off the grid” recording studio. I’ll be using lots of natural light, solar panels and wind turbine power. I’ll also be using as many tricks as possible to conserve energy consumption.

My friend has a car that runs on veggie oil. It smells like Chinese food behind the car because he gets the oil from a Chinese Restaurant for free! He hasn't paid for gas in like five years in a row; I wonder how much money he's saved? Plus, since his car burns relatively clean I wonder how much cleaner the air is in his neck of the woods. My friend is a smart guy! Not just environmentally speaking either. He's a blonde hair blue eyed boy from Northern California but he speaks Spanish fluently and lived in Guadalajara for five years teaching advanced math at a university! I mention he's blonde hair blue eyed, (White American) because we went to a Mexican restaurant once and a family was speaking Spanish at the table beside us. Because of the way he looks most people don't think he would be fluent. The Latina waitress came and his mind was in Spanish mode and he began speaking Spanish and the waitress looked at him funny, like WTF? Plus, when he was in Guadalajara he met a women and now he's married to her so I'm thinking he mostly speaks Spanish at home now, so that's a whole other level of fluency. He's a cool guy, one of my heroes and my friend!

loud and clear... don't know if the 2012 deal will pan out, but the place we're planning should be a good 10 meters above sea level so we can have beach front property when the poles melt or hell freezes over, which ever comes 1st.

so you and your bud can come over and we'll organize some mud or grease or mud and grease wrestling chicks or sumpin' (oops. that wasn't too politically correct was it).

... and with a little luck we won't have access to satellite internet so we can be free of GS once and for all! ...... or not.

Since everything I do is mostly owned by their respective labels, I can't post my work here, but I guess, Itunes have previews of one minute or so, I highly recomends my work with Aleks Syntek, Ana Torroja, La 5a. Estacion, Jumbo or Alejandra Guzman, but if you like catchy songs or teenage stuff then RBD, Belinda, OV7 or even Allison can sweet your ears.

Well, I have the Brent Averill-Avedis "Api" pre amp, and I love it, maybe I can add a lunch box, but for the moment I'm happy with what I already have.

Best.
