The End of a Personal Era and a New Beginning

Hello Kurzweil users,
I writing to let you know that I am leaving Kurzweil Music Systems Dec 31st. The time I have spent at Kurzweil has been rewarding. It has truly been an incredible experience, but I have an opportunity that I must pursue. I feel this move is the best for me and my family.

I have accepted a position at Yamaha as Assistant DMI Marketing Manager assisting Mike Martin and working with mLAN. If any of you know me, you know how passionate I am about mLAN. My family and I will be relocating over the next couple months.

It has been an honor to get to know all of you over the last several years. I've been lucky enough to meet some of you as I've traveled throughout the country. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to see you again in future travels.

For obvious reasons, my web site GEOSYNC Music will be going away. Please download all the Kurzweil goodies you want before I shut it down.

I hope that this news does not diminish your confidence in Kurzweil products in any way. Everyone at AND Music Inc/Kurzweil is working very hard and there will even be some exciting news in the Kurzweil booth at NAMM. I'm confident that the company is on the right track. This new job simply presents some new challenges, opportunities, and a chance to make a real difference in how many will be using digital instruments and audio in the future.

I can't thank everyone here in the Kurzweil community enough for your support and friendship. I'll miss you all very much! Thank all of you that own or are considering mLAN equipment. You have invested in the future. The best is yet to come!

Sincerely,
George Hamilton

George--

not to be a Dick or anything, but its still the 29th and I was wondering if you could answer a question????

Is it possible to use multiple KSP8's using MLan and the KMLN8 on a windows XP PC yet??

I have a second KSP8 on the way and am thinking about ditching the ADAT cards and going Mlantastic.

PS--what is the lowest latency with the KMLN8??

Buddhaman

Good luck in your new endeavor!!!

George--

I've been reading several of your posts lately as I'm researching a review on the Kurzweil Rumour. Anyhow, I feel I've gotten to know you through reading a lot of your posts. You've been a big asset to Kurzweil in providing some honest evangelizing on the forums. I wish you the best of luck at your new job.

Not being a dick at all. I LOVE this stuff

1: Yes, I'm a Mac guy that will be getting a XP system so my info is from over-the-sholder observations.

The new mLAN-B (beta not released yet) upgrade for the KSP8 is rocking. XP will support multiple KSP8s. If you want to use the RSP8, you will need the hub 7.

2: I don't know the new mLAN-B specs.
I'll try it shortly after Jan 5th and tell you.

It should be possible to be less than 1ms.

I'll post it as soon as I have "real" numbers. I think having 2 KSP8s is AWESOME !!

I bought one w/ mLAN. I not just the hairclub president

Steve,

Thanks for the nice words. I was very proud to be the main mouthpiece for
the KSP8/ Rumour & Mangler. They truly are amazing products that set new standards that will be difficult to follow.

The KSP8 with mLAN makes desktop recording a no compromise option.

George,

Best of luck in your journey. Your assistance with the Kurz products have been very helpful. I'm sure we'll all be picking your brain about mLan in the future.

Thanks for the Rumour info. It really influenced me into buying one when people were saying the KSP-8s reverbs were kicking TC and Lexicons ass. Great product and extremely affordable.

Good luck at Yamaha

George , Best of luck to you! I know you will be an asset to Yamaha.

To those who hang here: George is a great example of a good guy getting a break. The move will help him move up, as he should. He "gets it", a rare commodity in larger companies. We need more people like him and fewer "company men".

Kick some butt George!
