Thread Starter | Non digital verb secrets ...??
I'm looking for verbs other than live chamber, and smaller than a plate, and not digital. Any ideas?

Maybe you should check out the Demeter Real Reverb. It is a spring reverb. It is low-noise and sounds nice to me, but I am not the most experienced. It is well thought of, though. It has a short decay tank and a longer tank and they can be combined and/or variably adjusted. PC

Or even better a BX25 if you can find one! I love it. Sounds wonderful and is a cube about 3 ft by 3 ft. Last of the BX series I believe. |

I restored an old Fisher SpaceXpander spring reverb, and though it's obviously not the most flexible, usable go-to effect, I really do use it a lot more than I would have expected. Clients think it's cool, and they can be found on Ebay for not too much dough...

How big is the 240? Would I be able to move it all the way upstairs. I recall using one back in the days but never saw it. It sounded quite different to 140s I've used (btw all of them sounded different to each other too). I'm a big fan of plates but have a bedroom studio= impossible to fit the 140 or Stocktronics. Same goes with upright pno.. Would love one but it would be a total nightmare to get it up here. I also pay rent so I wouldn't want to leave it here when the time comes.. Cheers, Antti |

yeah, its a one trick pony but the spacexpander gives the ultimate dub reverb effect - king tubby's go to unit although he modified his a bit by muting one of the springs and using specific tubes. cheap home gear that sounds awesome. i need to send mine to someone because mine is noisy as hell but l still use it all the time.
