Lexicon Prime Time II (is this Hi-End?)

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I know Michael W. likes these...

Anyhoo, just got a Lexicon PTII and it's nosiy as hell. To be expected, or does it maybe need a looking at/return? Thanks! -E

Shouldn't be that bad. Make sure you have your input and output adjusted correctly. It can be a little confusing if you're not used to the sliders. Yours might need a little TLC but they're cool. I have an OG model 93.

I agree with drundall, shouldn't be that bad. But what are you comparing it to?

It is after all a 26 year old box.

I got mine a few months ago, and I didn't notice any noise until I really cranked the return one day. It made me smile because even the noise sounded kinda nice, reminded me of the 80's.

But if the first thing you notice is how noisy it is after it's been properly set up, I'd say there might be something wrong with it. If so, it is worth getting repaired, IMO.

And yes, it is high end.

Depends of how noisy 'noisy' is to you, but the way I have it set up it's not noisier than a PCM 70, and it's less noisy than a 480L.

In retrospect, this was probably a rhetorical question. I'm gonna do some more tweaking, but I'm pretty sure it's a lot noisier than it should be; at the very least, it's way too noisy for me right now. >sigh<

Thanks, y'all! -E
