Hey, Is it worth buying vintage mics in poor condition to get them refabed? Im just curious whether the refab will effect the sound quality in any way. Also has any one ever come across any old NOS mics? I saw a U67 sold in ebay a few weeks back that had never been taken out the box - are these rarer than rare or do you guys see this quite often - and is it worth paying the extra to get it brand new than paying low for a used and old mic and getting it spruced up if needed? That U67 that was sold on Ebay was actually a reissue that Neumann did (I do not recall the re-issue date. 1991???). Apparently they had enough spare parts (and enough consumer interest) to do a small run of them. Finding an original NOS U67 would be something of a miracle.
