UA solo/110 ... solo/610 ?????

Hi everyone,

I need some advice,

I´m planning to buy a good D.I. to record mainly bass and guitar.
I come up with some alternatives:

1 - Radial JDI (standard d.I.)

2 - Avalon U5 (the line level output is handy for me)

3 - Universal Audio Solo/110 or Solo/610 ( more expensive units, but the price includes a quality mic preamp, and i need one too! )

I am thinking that the solo´s can be very usefull because of the extra features/price/quality but need some feedback from users.
Anyone have one of this UA things? (My budget is really tight, i cannot spend more than 800$ US on this)

i would definitely go with the UA stuff. more character than the Avalon IMO and as you mentioned, great features and great preamp!

personally i like the UA SOLO/110, assuming that it contains the same pre as found on the four-channel UA 4110 (and that the SOLO/610 is based on the M-610 and 2-610). that's just me of course...

EDIT: there is now a $50 rebate on the SOLO preamps if you purchase before January, JSYK.

you´re right between the two UA´s I favor the 110, i need something more neutral sounding than the 610.

never heard the solo 110, i have a 610, u5 and REDDI, if you looking a DI for bass the reddi is exellent, blows both avalon and UA ...take a look at the reddi, you wont be disapointed.

I love my Solo 610 on bass, I use it over my lA-610, for some reason it just sounds better on the Solo.
