Thread Starter | How similar are the Daking Mic Pre IVs & 52270B's to Trident A range?
As the thread title suggests, I'm wondering what similarities and differences the Daking products share with the Trident A range? From the threads I can find about them people seem to like them, just not much said in detail.

Extremely similar. The Daking mic pres are slightly cleaner (almost certainly because of the different transformers; the only major design difference). The Dakings use Jensen transformers (like an API) the EQ is virtually indistinguishable. and of course the Dakings are cheaper, easier to find, and brand new (so more reliable)

Daking is pretty open about the fact that he purchased the rights to the Trident circuits and is producing something pretty similar. He liked those boards and wanted people to have access to that sound in a modern package. They sound great... Mike |
