| Between 2:1 or 3:1 Comp Ratio. Attack and Release on Manual with fairly slow Attack and fairly quick Release, unless you're getting undue sibilance, in which case you might set Attack to quicker. Set Threshold to give somewhere between 5-15dB max gain reduction on vocal peaks, depending on the singer and how much you want to mash them, subjectively. The CL1B can yield more gain reduction on vocals with less noticeable artifacts (like pumping or getting dull) than most compressors, even other high end comps. So don't overdo it accidentally. If you're looking for a compressor that can tame a vocal but keep it pretty natural sounding, the CL1B is a great choice. If you're looking for a rock 'n roll in-your-face compressor that is pumpy, get an 1176.

| I run mine with about the same setup that Brian mentioned. Attack is usually a bit quicker....around 9 o'clock. Once I had a girl I didn't know well open up and really belt a bit. GR was slammin down -10,-12 but you couldn't tell it was squashing. They are very natural sounding for sure. |

| Just been getting to grips with mine. Slower attack and faster release works well. |

| My setting are as Brian's. One word of caution, watch your input. Some unpreditcable vocalist can scorch the input easier than other comps. |

| Attack as slow as it'll go, release as fast as it'll go. Output at 0 or maybe a little above. Threshold set to reign in that particular singer. I'm still not convinced the ratio knob does anything. |

| Gear maniac | Settings similar to what Brian stated. Definitely one of my most favorite pieces. |
