1)since the "recording" award winners sometimes leave us scratching our heads... is it possible for the moderator(s) to setup an informal polling type award section...
where we might vote for commonly known recordings annually.
Ala the tec awards... [so maybe we could include gear too.]
I think it'd be great fodder for discussion if not too corny.

But almost every year in some artist's lounge the tele gets turned on and there is alot of moaning and griping between beckonings back into the studio or control room. Maybe we could create a closer more unfettered definitive here.


2) Not regarding the above but, As far as rock goes, I really like the new AudioSlave album's sound. I'm no traditionalist (in fact I love the idea of toppling sacred cows and hitting them in the head with my shoe at every opportunity), So the fact that it may not be warm and round enough doesn't apply here. musically, I'm not as interested. Sonically, I like it alot.

Has anyone heard it enough to have any impressions? ...or insights and ideas about it's recording and/or mix?


3) what about Emperors without clothes:

what Historic hits or "classics" really were recorded or mixed terribly (considering the time of their respective creation)
yet have even become, in some cases, considered paradigms but maybe shouldn't have?
[NOT instances where it was done purposefully for effect or style (I.E. PUNK)]

also, we all say: it's more about (capturing)the magic in the end/it's all about a great song/can't polish turds... so which are magical despite themselves ??

members can set up polls ... when you post a new thread ... at the bottom check the poll box ... this way you can set it up just as you like / including all options you like.
