Need some advice on MTC to SMPTE conversion...

Hello all,

It looks like we will be putting an Amek Media 51 in our new mix room and thought I would solicite some suggestions on the best box for converting my Nuendo systems MTC to SMPTE for the desks automation computer. It is a standard Mac G5 dual using the Apogee Symphony cards and 16X's for conversion.

Please chime in with your opinions on the best/worst interface to do the job with the least "lag".

Thanks in advance to all.

Jim

Hey Jim hope you're doing great these days (the Sony's still rockin' )

I've got a JL Cooper box that does that. I'll send it to you for free. WHY? Because you were so helpful w/ getting me the desk.

The box is quirky but works. It's not an expensive box but I *did* upgrade it to do MTC to SMPTE. It's just collecting dust so....

PM me.

Jim, your best bet is to call JLCooper and see if you can still get a PPS2+. The PPS2 isn't what you want, but if you order a "+" version, it comes with a new eProm that makes the unit accept MTC and output SMPTE. Brainless, Simple, Cheap & works perfectly. The best solution I know of.
