Rupert Neve Designs: Who are we?

From the webpage...

"Rupert Neve Designs, Inc. is nestled in the picturesque Texas Hill Country. Our small team of dedicated engineers have designed a new range of Professional Audio Gear and systems based on both proven classic design concepts and modern innovations. This new range of gear is based on custom designed transformer and single sided amplification."

I can't tell you how many times at the AES booth we had people confuse us for a certain other company started by our owner, Mr. Rupert NEVE more than 40 years ago. It is not surprising, since we do share at least part of our companies names. Who we are, however, is completely different.

Rupert Neve Designs, Inc. is a privately owned company, which has been trading since Jan 1, 2005. We began with the Portico range of products, which continue to grow momentum. We have also just introduced the 5088 line mixing system, which will begin shipping in middle 2007. Our company is a small, strong team, living and working in Central Texas.

At the heart of this interprise is Rupert Neve, owner and master designer. He obviously brings so much to the table, from design ideas and philosophies, to support and encouragement.

All of Rupert's successes can, in part, be attributed to his lovely wife, Evelyn Neve. She continues to play an important role in the company in supporting the accounting and business side of the company.

Kevin Burgin has been working with Rupert for more than 8 years now. Together, they make the heart of the design team. Kevin does much of the circuit integration, schematic capture, and product design. Working with Rupert for so long, Kevin knows how to produce the quality our designs are known for.

I, Michael Glass, have been there next longest at 4 1/2 years. My job requires many hats, as I cover production coordination, system designs, front panel layouts, and R&D team leader. (Kevin and I are the only two that go back to when we worked in Rupert's house as consultants.)

Drake Williams was our next great addition to the team. Drake began 3 years ago when we comenced work on the Masterpiece mastering box. Drake brings board layout and metalwork design to the team, and his work is indispensable.

Josh Thomas has worked with Rupert longest, going back to their Amek days. He worked sales for Amek US, joined Rupert Neve Designs in late 2004, when work began on the Portico range. He continues to be a great resource as director of sales.

Tristan Rhodes also joined the sales team in 2005, and has become a valuable asset to the company.

We continue to grow, bringing on Travis McDaniel and Drew Heaton as technical assistants, Judy Masterson as office coordinator, and Tom Burkhart, accountant.

Who we aren't....

Rupert has founded or consulted with many companies over the past 40 plus years. Begining with his first company, Rupert Neve and Co. (or just Neve). Moving on from the company in the mid 70's, he began a Christian radio course (and made a few broadcast consoles for it... The Phillipian consoles) Later, he began a new company named Focusrite, which became quite successful. This venture was sold, and continues to trade. Beyond Focusrite, Rupert concentrated on consulting. His personal consulting business, ARN Consultants, LLC continues. Consulting with Amek, he worked on many console modules and outboard gear. Many various other consulting jobs included work for Summit, Taylor Guitars, and Legendary Audio (Masterpiece).

Neither Rupert Neve, nor Rupert Neve Designs, Inc. are associated with any of the previous ventures, other than Legendary Audio.
