The Xlogic Super analogue channel is based on the 9k, the E on a 4k.

I tried both and really liked the Superanalogue, everybody else raved about the E.

In true Gearslutz mode "Get both!"

The E has a transformer, the Listen comp thing and this new harmonic distortion that they seem to have on their new Duality board.

The other is a basically a lift from a 9k channel strip.

dam,
i just know i am going to try some of those ssl eq's and end up coughing up more benjamins. stop tempting me .

so glad i was not in sf this year for aes. trying all of the sweet gear i have not used yet would have put me in huge debt.

Are these X-logic channels as good as real SSL modules? I say NO.

I'm talking about real modules from or in real SSL consoles? Did they change these in any way? Yeah, "E-series..." but what do they think that is exactly because I've persnaly seen quite a few variations on that.

I just keep thinking someone is going to buy one of these and think there going to get that "classic" SSL sound...and I don't think they will.

I've been down this road and tried most all of it, old and new and I have to say, the new stuff isn't worth what they're asking...in my opinion.

There's also The XLogic 4-Channel Mic Amp, a four channel mic pre version of the 9k.

It's four grand but worth every penny.
