Unhappy

:(

What? A $300,000 console with no 2nd row of faders??? Are you kidding me? Need more info. Is this an inline console or not? I mean... that is the joy of a an SSL during tracking. Full fader flip... top faders go "to tape", bottom faders are monitor levels.

If they gave us all that... just with the top faders on knobs.... I will change all my smilies.

It is veeery purty. No doubt about that. An the Mackie Control thing for all the fader is super sweet!!!

Are you sure about that? That works out to $244,000 for a 48ch desk. Little pricey if you ask me.

Getting a little better. I really expected a 48ch to be around $150,000. Guess I was wrong...

While my studio definetly isn't looking to replace our SSL anytime soon, the lack of small faders would definetly be a bit of a bummer. They seem to be advertising it as a better choice then an old 4000 from what I've read, but the lack of that one option would totally make me choose a 4000 in a heartbeat...however as you said...there must be something we're missing.

Seriously who cares about the second input being on a knob. It's not like they ever had motors on them. It's a smart move considering you have to break your back to reach the top of a channel strip on the 4000 - 9000. Do that all day every day for weeks on end and see how bad your lower back feels. Not to mention you look like quasimoto bending that far over the desk. I love the new design, and it integrates perfectly with every major DAW around. Were going to put one in our new room ASAP.
