Help connecting Hedd 192, Digi Sync I/O and Digi 192 I/O

Hello:

Anybody has anny suggestions to connect this setup?

Hedd 192, Digi Sync I/O, Digi 192 I/O and Avocet
Running ProTools 6.9 on Mac

I'd like to know how to make the best out of my system, and how to configure it!

Thanks!!!

Leave the Sync completely out of the chain unless your syncronizing to external time code, video clock, etc. The clock in the Sync is actually inferior to that in the 192 - the device was built to be a synchronizer, *not* a master clock. If you do occasionally sync to tape or other external machine, just connect the Loop Sync and run PT's clock source off the Sync only when locking to external clock.

The rest is just determining what clock master (Hedd or 192) you find more pleasing, and the same for D/A (Hedd D/A to Avocet analog input vs. 192 digital output to Avocet digital input). Beyond that it's just your basic digital connections and proper setting of clock source on each device.

One more question... i connected the digital out from the 192 to the digital input on the Hedd, and the analog outputs to the analog inputs on the Hedd, but within pro tools, how do i select the Hedd as the master clock?

Thanks

I have a question, what analog outputs are you talking about? Where are they coming from?

If I remember correctly the clock setting are found in the hardware setup.

Connecting the Digital out to the Digital in on the Hedd is correct - this will allow you to use the Hedd as your D/A by sending your tracks out the AES port on the 192. To utilize the Hedd as the master clock, you'll need to connect the AES out on the Hedd to the AES input on the 192 and set the clock source in PT's session setup or hardware setup windows to that input. You'll need that connection to use the A/D on your Hedd anyway.
