Thread Starter | NTP 160 comp
Hi everybody. I've been offered to buy a pair of NTP 160 comps for a little under 600 dollars. I know it's a great piece of gear but never used them myself. I's like to hear some feedback on these machines - what do you guys use 'em for...is it a fair price? Cheers, Lasso. |

Hi Lasso, I got the NTP 179-170, the stereo version of the 179-160. It's an extremely transparent comp. It's difficult to get a bad sound out of this baby.....I guess this can't be said for too many comps. I practically always leave the NTP in line for recording, especially with vocals and acoustic guitars. It's like a safety net and gives a nice polish to the sound...I prefer the 1176 for rougher, Rock and Rollier stuff... I got mine for an incredible low price from a radio station, so I don't know bout the value but judging from dealers like Vintage King yours seems to be a reasonable price... Andi
