Manley Vari-Mu SC mod? + et. al

Anyone have this procedure?

I rooted around and did not find it mentioned around here much.
(unless you can shoot me a link, and thank you in advance)

Very Mari still serves as our only mix buss comp and I do love her.
Right now $200 for the sc mod is a lot more do-able while the change jug
slowly fills up to someday win us another solid flavor.

IN the meantime, I hope that rolloff might help to tighten the un-natural,
mushy bottom which can swell down below.

I think of it like $200 for liposuction, or maybe permanent botox for buttcheeks.
(not sure if I want to see that smile)

thanks for your thoughts

Yes, it's completely worth the money. I just had mine done and it's far more effective on the 2 bus as it doesn't get triggered nearly as hard by the bass now.
A disclaimer, though... I had the T-bar mod done at the same time so this could also be a factor into why my Vari-mu sounds so good now. But there is a very noticeable difference with the sidechain mod in using it on the 2 bus.
Also, I forget the service guy's name but he was very friendly and lightning-quick. He performed the mods and turned my unit around within 2 days of receiving it. I popped the cover and looked inside when I got it back and he did a top-notch job, so I'll give the whole experience a huge two thumbs up.

We had the T-bar mod done when we first purchased it. It doesn't alter the 'mushy' bottom at all. That was not the purpose for the mod anyhow. We recently had the SC mod installed as well. That one did take care of the bottom end...it seems to me like it shouldn't even be an option, but standard on all Vari-Mu's. It's that good.
Now, let's address the other issues...
