which tubes?

My father is an electronics engineer and while digging out his place at work, found something like 100+ tubes in apparently good working order.

What kind of tube would be usefull in an audio context (i.e. for me to sell ) ? He said quite a bit of them are Tektronix brand...
So which brand and which type?

Thanks,
Dirk

Telefunken are probably the most sought after. Particularly VF14s because U47s used them. Mullards are good too, also RCA and various others. If you go to watford valves' (uk) website it should give you an idea of the range available and how much they are worth.
hope this is some help.

Tektronix simply tested and rebranded tubes. There are a few tube ID sights on the net. I would try to identify them that way. 12A*7 (*=A, T, or U) and octal based power tubes are most commonly used today for audio. RCA blackplates (12AX7, 6L6, 6V6) Mullards (ECC83, EL34), and Telefunken (12AX7) seem to be commanding the most money right now (too much if you ask me...$300 for a pair of NOS Mullard EL34s, and $100 a pop for a ECC83).
