Never heard of 'em either, but they say: "Edax Audio Labs was founded in March, 1998 "...

Yeah..It just seems to me like every company has the same spiel.

"we specialize in class A handblown tubes with llama nuthair wound transformers."

What happened to marketing?

Tired of audio manufacturers that recreate great oldies? Nah. As long as I can get a Pultec clone for less than 2k I'm happy...

The MU-456 it is not a clone of the compressors Fairchid 670 in fact this type of compressors is obsolete for most of the applications of nowadays...
yeah... it's totally obsolete. I can't really think of anything a Fairchild 670 would sound good on!

just so thin sounding - they really struggle controlling dynamic range.

I checked out the description of the compressor:
"Description

The MU-456 is the it finishes generation in compressors limiters of this type systems. The MU-456 uses tubes like system of gain reduction. The compressor limiter of Variable Mu has the the only characteristic of reducing the distortion while it reduces the gain, this system type it is the same one used in the old type compressors Fairchild 670"

Hope their text doesn't reflect the quality of their stuff!!!

Can't believe that any professional company would put that text on their web site.
