If it's as good as the other work Mr. Bradley has performed for me in the past then I wouldn't piss on the thing if it was on fire... as always, YMMV.

Fletcher, this has piqued my curiosity..I normally carry all my business to peter drefahl here in Germany (or Tony Merril stateside)...what did you not like about Bill's service? Sloppy work? Not punctual? Shitty product? I will need a good tech when I return stateside for good in a few weeks.

Why has Bradley made you Madley?

So what did Bradley do to piss you off so much?

HAHAHAHAHAH!!!

Sorry ... no offense, mrbowes ... but ... I don't think that's what he meant.

ps: my laughter should not be taken as any comment on Mr. Bradley .. He was a great basketball player, and I think I did vote for him in the primaries back in 2000.

Ok .. I'll stop.

no sir, we understand mr. fletcher quite well.

to refuse to urinate on a burning microphone can only mean that the microphone is not worth saving.

this can go for humans too.

Actually....

It's his SM57 and SM58 clones are where his genius for copying microphones truely shines.

Tony and Klaus are the only two guys I trust in the US.

There was a time when I had a pretty damn similar sounding [I won't say "matched" because they weren't... but for my purposes they were close enough for government work] pair of AKG C-12's I bought them both at the same time, from the same guy who had them from birth in the same facility. Damn nice pair of mics.

We had the right parts for me to change the filter caps on one of my two supplies so I did that one.

At the time our shop was jammed with work so rather than having one of our guys order the capacitors and spend time on one of my personal C-12's I decided to not be an extra drain on the shop staff and sent the mic to Bradley.

The work order request was for the original power supply to have it's filter capacitors changed. Nothing more, nothing less.

What I got back was a mic with a new capsule, a "Bill Bradley Power Supply" and a bill for over $2,000-.

I dared not send the mic back to Bradley because I had not marked the capsule in my mic [which I had done with some other mic repair guys in the past... but like the putz I am I trusted Bradley at that time]. After he swapped out my capsule with a "new" [and in my perception, inferior] capsule I had less than no faith that my original capsule would be reinstalled in the mic and was fairly sure that a seriously shit/blown capsule would probably have been installed if I had sent the mic back to Bradley.

In the end, I returned his power supply, got mine back [still without the filter capacitors I had originally wanted installed] along with the mic's pattern selector and paid him I don't recall how much money for a shitty capsule I didn't want.

When I paid him for this I mentioned to him that I would be sure to tell any and everyone who asked about what a scumbag he is... so being true to my word, here I am telling y'all about my bad experience with Mr. Bradley and his "MicShit" shop.

I hope he burns in hell after what he did to one of my favorite microphones... I can only imagine what kind of con job he's trying to pull with this current 47 scam of his.

FWIW, when he was still in Chicago, before he moved to Nashville I had nothing but excellent experiences with Mr. Bradley. I found his work good and his word true... something changed when he got to Nashville. I don't know what it was, I don't care what it was I just know that I got burned and I'll NEVER forget the experience.

Is that a sufficient clarification?dfegad

That is very helpful, thanks! Ill stick with Tony and Peter then.

AKG USA just hosed my friend in a similar fashion..He sent them a c34 to get an estimate for repair(a cable, nothing more)...well, not only did they replace all of the capsules(with the "new, and improved" capsules), they also messed with the pattern box, and built a new cable.....so instead of an estimate, they did the work without his permission, stuck him with a BIG bill, and to top it all off, they sent the package without any delivery confirmation and it sat on his doorstep in the rain overnight...dfegad on AKG usa..

Tony? Can someone please help me out?

I'm very familiar with Klaus, as he has modified my U87, but I'm not on a first name basis with "Tony".

Thank you.

Several years ago I was looking hard at a serious mic at The Mic Shop and said I wanted to buy it but needed Klaus to run his pre-purchase inspection on it first. Bradley refused, pretty heatedy. So I just stopped thinking about dealing with that shop.

Mr. Bradley is a hustler and a knowledgeable mic man.

His prices, when in Chicago, used to be reasonable and we had many good dealings with him.

Now, the prices are sky high beyond all reason---$2400.00 for a pair of KM84's??????

You obviously don't understand the cost involved in maintaining a website like that!

Doug Walker... he's out of Toronto if I remember correctly. I don't have his information nearby but if you email me at Fletcher@mercenary.com next week, like after Tuesday, I should be able to look up his number if you still haven't landed on it by then.

Peace.
