Exactly. Tip: If you haven't noticed, when PT abbreviates names, it always prioritizes capital letters (as well as numbers). So I ALWAYS name tracks like newspaper headlines: "Gregg Scratch Vocal 1," which would come up like "GSV1" (or in PT on mini track mode it might come up "GScVo1 or something). If it was named "Audio 15," I'd be going crazy trying to find it in a decent-sized mix. If it was named "greggvox a," who knows how it would abbreviate?

Nobody's brought up the fact that the Focusrite pres give the board a bunch of functional knobs -- the C24 isn't exactly packed full of knobs, anyway (esp. compared to a traditional console), so this might be a design feature with an ulterior motive. Also, the PS and hardware involved in a pre is significant $$$; constructing a pre is different from piggybacking it onto something like this. It probably factors into the cost much less than we would expect.

The price point isn't all that bad considering the C24's "Flip" mode ability. Need to mix quickly? Option-add a reverb bus on every channel, and "Flip" the C24 from channel volume to send volume (for that send) and start using the faders for a quick reverb send balance. That is something you cannot do on a HUI.

(Flip mode? Is that what it's called? I don't use a C24 much, so if I got the term wrong...)

I just think that given the time elapsed, and the dissociation with Focusrite (who made the preamps in the C24), that we're "due" to see something; perhaps just a sequel? I don't acually know.. But it seems like the right rhythm for something new to be there, from digi or maybe some evolution of third-party HUI-handcuffed things .... and it's only 4 weeks to make sure.

Bloated price?

I don't get it. They released it for about $2,000 to $3,000 less than the Pro Control,

It had 16 more faders, 16 pre-amps, 16 channel line line mixer, more editing buttons, all 24 faders to control plugins, sends and pans.

And nobody (but Pro Control owners) were complaining about the price.

But everybody complains about the Pre's and Analog section.

Yeah, they're awful.

They should have just left it off and everyone would be happy. Even for the same price.

The key to the unit is 24 faders in the sweet spot with an Ethernet connection.

They left out a lot in the HUI protocol. And on purpose.

I would buy this unit, even if it only did Volume and Pan automation.

I would think that their dissociation with Focusrite would be a good reason not to see a C24 Mark II anytime soon.

Which brings up a point, why did Focusrite put their name on one of the worst "audio" pieces of all time?

Behringer would have been no worse.
