EVENT ASP8 - - DYNAUDIO BM5A Very Interesting!!!

I have a pair of Dynaudio bm5a's in my mix room right now, as well as a pair of event asp8's. I am contemplating keeping them both to a/b mixes on. Here are some of my findings, please chime in.

The dynaudio's seem to make anything I play through them sound just utterly amazing! This is sometimes good, and sometimes bad. I do sometimes wonder what's going on below 50 hz but that's not really a huge issue, I could just get rid of the asp8's and get a sub.

The Events, are extremely detailed in the hi's a litttle brittle at times, not nearly as pleasant to listen to, but seem to make me work for it a little more somehow. Ear fatigue on these is very easy to achieve.

Now I prefer the sound of my bm5a's but in all honesty (maybe I just suck) I haven't been able to make them translate in certain frequency ranges. It's hard for me to really decipher what's too much in the 10 - 12k range as well as the 2 - 4k range. I just got the asp8's and haven't had much time with them, but have mixed on event 20/20's in the past and they are somewhat close to eachother. I will continue to update but wanted any opinions from those that have used these.

And please no biased answers, I own both and I don't care what I keep, and I don't care what company you like better or even the build quality, just the better monitor in general to mix all kinds of music on.

I own Event SP6's- and they translate pretty damn well. If the high end seems a little brittle, you could drop the HF's on the back of the speakers, can you not? (a db or two)

Not too sure about the DynAudios tho- I've used them and thought they were good and everything- but I've never been able to spend enough time on them to give an honest opinion.

Used the Dyns and the problem is that EVRYTHING sounds great! I'd use them to listen to music but not to mix, I have the Precision-8 and in my room they sound very smooth, in fact I thought that these speakers corrected everything that I hated about the 20/20s(brittle sound, lack of bottom ect.). Anyway , mixes translate very well from these but as we all knoww YMMV!
