I'm lovin my U.A Solo 610!

This thang has so much character when recording threw it that I felt the R.N.P lacked. Its just got a nice cozy warm feel to it, and adds beautiful color to what ever you record. So far it sounds great on everything from acoustic, direct bass, distored electric, etc. I recorded vocals on it, and when I listen to it now, its got this vintage old Beach Boys kind of warmth to it that I have never heard before. And as far as this thing clipping to easy?? Just adjust the volume or gain. I've recorded crank 100 watters and it sounds amazing. I guess the key word with the 610 is WARMTH. thumbsup

It's called midrange. Enjoy.

Is that what it was? LOL I shouldn't rag on the R.N.P stuff, because I am sure there are times when it can sound good for certain applications. It just wasn't working with the kind of stuff I do I guess. Anyway the 610 sounds good clean or with grit, that's why I love it.

While I find the 610 errs on the side of emphasizing the mids, the RNP always sounded scooped to me. It was pleasant on some things...like acoustic guitar I remember digging it...but, with no more analog tape and fewer and fewer analog boards, man, I'll take the mid bumps where I can get'em.
