Neve sidecar with 1081's ?

Back in the day was their a sidecar similar to the BCM10 that used 1081 eq's ?

I am looking for a small board to fit in the studio that is not the full 8048/78.

Hi

Quick answer is no, other than the special tape transfer consoles that had two 1081's... like this one...

A little fact that not a lot of people know is that consoles like this were sold to the Metropolitan Police and were used to clean up recordings from Nagras that were used by MI5 and MI6 for discretely recording conversations.

I recall several being made... not just for the police... but certainly not more than 10.

Ha, nice one Geoff!

scene: court of law

officer takes the stand

"Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?"

....'Yes yer honour this recorded evidence of the mafia don pimp ho was recorded wit da real phatness!"

Funny thing is, I bet the police officers had no clue how cool the gear was! or maybe they snuck it home and tracked some stuff to tape in their off-hours....
