Good Midfield for Dance or hiphop music

I have heard a couple people talk about the Tannoy system 1200's. what other midfieldspeakrs are good for Dance or hiphop.

imvho a good midfield is a good midfield ... no matter what kind of music you're into.

As for the choice of Tannoy .... budget dependingly spoken there is way better out there ... but milages vary a lot as Fletcher would put it.

personnaly I would look for a good nearfield and add a sub for bass control .... especially in Dance / hip hop / ...

I like hearing a lot of bass so I use the Mackie HR824s. They are not accurate at all, but neither are NS10s right? They also get pretty loud (I've measured them at 95db slow response on a rad shack digital meter at 6 feet). They will get people pretty psyched up for $1000 speakers.

You may want to check out the new shiny black event speakers. They're more accurate than the Mackies and the earlier version sounded pretty decent.

The new Tannoys suck, go with the older DMT series.

My favorite are the DMTII10 and the DMT with the dual 15's.

A friend of mine swears the combination of Mackie HR824s and a seperate sub for each crossing over at 100 creates one of the very finest full range monitors he's ever used.
