I own a pair, and i think they sound great. They can handle crazy low end, and everybody thats heard them at my place is like "wow" those monitors sound phat! For $515 per monitor, i think its well worth the money imo. I produce hip-hop btw, so i need to hear the really low end, and they go down low. |

They are WAY good without a sub! Absolutely no need for a sub with the SP8's Bottom end is crazy. |

No sub with my SP8's, no need that's why I bought them, great bottom end and natural highs. Nick |

I had pair of SP8's last year. Over the B*******'s Truths they made a world of difference. I stopped making so many coasters!! BUT, the low end left me still confused at mix down. Yes, my room was treated with OC 703/705 so I feel confident that it wasn't the room. For the money you're talking about it sounds like a great deal (I paid $1300/pair). I like the way they looked and sounded(except the bass). Yes it did go low, but I thought it was sloppy. I like my bass taut and controlled. There were some other quality control issues that came up too (amp issues, port chuffing). I ended up with a pair of Dynaudio BM-15's powered by a Rotel RB-991 amp(300W/ch 4ohm). Maybe it is their amp in the unit that makes the bass sloppy. Consider a passive pair with a Bryston amp(3B or 4B). Hope this helps, P

| Sub with precision 8
I have a set of precision 8 and a BEHRINGER TRUTH B2092A ACTIVE SUBWOOFER: 360 and thats how they should sound. I liked it so much a got a second B2092A for my 824 mackies. Do you need a sub no but it sounds much better with one. No more overloading on my precision 8 or 824's. I got each BEHRINGER TRUTH B2092A for $199.00 plus tax. |

I bought a pair for the SP6's after hearing one of my friends SP8's. I think they're great. The low end can be tricky at first, but you just need to reference a few cd's you know well and you're in business. They translate very very well. I never burned a mix more than two or three times if I don't nail it on the first, which happens quite often. Good ish. |
