I've never heard or even heard of the FM Acoustics stuff so can't offer an opinion of them - but I can say for amazingly clean & accurate power amps that are more than up for the task as part of a monitoring chain for mastering - the Pass Labs X series is definitely worth checking out if you're amp shopping right now - http://www.passlabs.com

Best regards,

Never heard (of) FM Acoustics amps but I am using MC2 Audio amps (MC450&T500).
These are simply the last amps Ill ever buy. Not really sure how to describe them, can't find a weakness. I forget they exist once I switch them on...
The only possible criticism I can think of is the fan which, although quiet as fans go, does kick in every few minutes even if the amp is idling (which would hint at a fairly heavy class a bias). I would strongly recommend you give them a try.

I'd have to agree with Steve on this one. I actually owned an FM Acoustics amp and phono stage years ago. I am now using the higher end XA series Pass Labs amps. I'll never use anything else. I've used in the past Mark Levinson, Classe' and Krell. The Pass Labs XA amps are the best out there.

Regards,
Bruce

I didn't know Krell made tube amps.
I used the KSA 300S, the FPB 350mc mono's and just last year the Evolution 600 mono's. I'm the typical audiophile that goes through equipment every year. I'm keeping these Pass amps though!

Bruce
