Does anyone have any info regarding it? In order to use the 550, does it require the 565 little Dipper, and how much is the going price? Thanks...

Just got a 556 Bandpass and it has a lovely sound. (nice thick when pushed hard) The caps are still ok in mine (!) the pots a bit scratchy, I have to clean those. (still waiting on my Caig order, it has been three months ) The 550a being the same concept (balanced in-outputs on the front and back) I'm sure it doesn't need the dipper. Why should it?so watch for dried up caps (low end not there when not engaging filter) and scratchy pots. I paid € 150 for mine which is worth it IMO, but this is europe and Urei is scarse, it's a nice workhorse, for compressor sidechain, but performs as well in the audio range. |

Thanks Reptil... In fact I'm going to be checking one out tomorrow. I couldn't believe it' "used" price but then again, there are things to consider (caps, scratchy pots, etc) and providing it's been taken cared of.
