500 series comp. / acoustic guitar

neve 2264alb vs API 525 primarly for acoustic guitar and sometimes bass guitar.

Just wondered what people here thought for the two.

I've not used the Neve, but I use a pair of 525b's and an old "large meter" 525 all the time for acoustic guitar and bass. Love the sound.

The Neve is pretty awesome for that too. Very thick sounding. Normally prefer the API on bass though.

API 525, oh yea. This thing is REAL good sounding on acoustic's. I like it a lot. Grabby',weighted. "Like a record"....on acoustic. Damn'd if I can find her sweet spot elsewhere, but on acoustic that little 525 sings to me. I like it elsewhere, but I would probably buy it just for that--

peace

The 525 is my most favourite acoustic guitar compressor of them all! Nothing else delivers such a thick, warm, evenly balanced signal.

525 is great.

Also, you can never do wrong with the FCS PICO. Set it and forget it kind of piece.
