OT: Looking for a good songwriter's/music business forum

Can anyone out there direct me to a good songwriter/music business forum? There's a pile of them on the web and all the one's I've looked at are pretty low traffic sites. My specific genre is Americana/Country.

Thanks,
Dyno

IMO Taxi is a joke. Very few songs actually get forwarded and you will notice the same handwriting on your written evaluations even though they use a different ID # every time. I had three published, veteran songwriters join with me a bunch of years ago. Some of us have had good cuts and one of us has more than one charting song. None of our 25 or so submissions got forwarded and our 'critiques' from Taxi were laughable, especially for people who had record deals at the time. Maybe we really do suck ! <g> Save your money for duping costs or recording.

That sounds like a great idea; learn from people who actually HAVE hits. Hugh Prestwood used to do a songwriter's class at the New School in NYC, maybe he still does. Hugh has seven top ten Country hits (including record of the year 'The Song Remembers When'). I've heard some grumbling criticism of Hugh from some Music Row folks but did I learn something ? You bet ! Highly recommended to get the real deal from the real players and Desmond certianly knows a little about hit records too. Take what you need and make it work for you.
