AM660 vs Vandergraph on mix buss and drum buss?

Just curious. Do people prefer a pair of AM660's or a Vandergraph for mix buss? What about drum buss?

Why?

It seems like the AM600 might be a little more versatile for places other than a buss? I could be wrong (I likely am).

Probably not many sluts with both.

At least not enough to be on GS within the 15 hrs since you posted the question....

Give it some time....

Wow... just looked at the price of the AM660... the Vandergraf (stereo) is only, like, $400 more than a single AM660.

That's going to factor into the decision... that plus all the additional features.

Hmm.

If the 500 series Anamod is the same as the rack mount, it's going to be a capable performer for both purposes. A little bit touchy on the threshold as far as I recall, but overall a pretty cool sound.

Ive only used the dual vander on the s buss a couple of times for mix duties.I'ts a nice flavor in small doses. Can add some punch and a little iron to the overall sound. It doesn't remind me of any other stereo comp.Totally usable for tacking or mixing.
