ADAT to AES - lost in translation?

I have an RME Fireface. I'm getting a Hedd for my master AD/DA, however I need to use a ADAT to AES format converter to get to the Hedd. Am I gonna lose something with this digital conversion?

You shouldn't loose anything with the proper converter box. Is there a reason you can't use S/Pdif? You can run a straight conversion cable from RCA to XLR. Just keep it under 6'.

The HEDD has spdif I/O, so a conversion cable isn't really needed, tho is possible, as the Fireface supports AES (correct format and impedance) over spdif. See the Fireface manual.

WHY CAN'T ANYONE PUT 2 SPDIF'S ON AN INTERFACE!!!!

My SPDIF is going to DAC1 to my monitors

ADAT 1 I'm planning on RME ADI4DD AES to ADAT
---ch 1-2 > TC Reverb 4000
---ch 3-4 > HEDD for master insert of Massive Passive

ADAT 2 is input for PC Gigasampler

You're not gonna lose quality, but I would consider clocking everything via wordclock for sure.

Get one of the RME format converters, you'll be fine... The clock recommendation si a good one. When I run here, I use my old Aardsync II for all my clocking, but you could even run the format converter off of the clock in the Fireface to make sure that you have good lock.
