Clearly these guys didn't interview any engineers...

How to choose a PIN code: Avoid birth date, 1234, or 8068

8068 the least popular? HA! They must not have talked to any slutz!
8108 or 5316 maybe... [actually fine tools as well, no flames please]

Best-

Jonathan

Honest-to-God truth: when I read that same article several days ago, I was really bummed that 8068 was specifically mentioned....because I actually DO use that one for some of my security stuff. I've been outed! Dammit!

(now, just in case there are any savvy hackers out there who think they can score with the above info....I don't use that PIN for anything of value. Sorry!)

Funny you also mention 8108. I actually did use 8108 as a PIN (way back when I was a kid just getting interested in this side of the glass, and that was the only Neve model I was aware of, gleaned from some book about the music biz). Then I did 8078 for a while, 'cause they had a nice one at Universal Recording in Chicago where I was once an intern, before moving on to 8068 for my console-related-PIN functions.

Now I guess I need to move yet again to another one...dude, you're giving away all my PIN secrets! Have you been tracking me all these years?

Most secure PIN (if they allow multi digits) is simply a memorable mic / pre / EQ / Comp / Recorder vocal chain, something like:
