Thread Starter | powerful daw for pro tools le is it possible to build a computer powerful enough to compete with pro tools hd that would allow me to use all my plug ins on a native system with a high quality adac (ua 2192 through oo2 rack). using native plug ins etc...... i was thinking about a dual opteron 2.6 dual core proccessor, with 4 gigs of ram on two computers the other running giga studio, and other software sound modules/synths. Tell me what do u guys think. |

Thread Starter | is it possible
please tell me its possible without any sound or sonic weakness. In other words if the computer is powerful enough with the native plug ins sound just as good as tdm ones or how about one hd card and 192 and will it work with a native system. thanks |

I don't know about the HD competing against PTLE thing. That is a Pandora's Box discussion waiting to happen but the "Quadzilla" PCs that they're building seem to be the largest of large when it comes to PTLE Native Performance. Check Digi's Forum and search for Quadzilla..there's a mondo thread related to it.

Check out the DUC forums. There are guys who have quad-core systems running PT LE and have seen a serious performance boost.
