I seriously doubt it... plus even if they did work, you'd likely be voiding your SSL warranty and giving up on the total recall aspect of the xrack which is a huge advantage.

You avoid the warranty if you place an API card in a rack other than an API rack but people do it all the time. You will lose total recall which seems to be a major feature. Not that I really need it. The biggest problem is the pinout of the card. SSL haven't published it anywhere, including their manuals. It shouldn't be to difficult to rack if you can find out which pin does what. The audio connections are already supplied on the cards, but there will probably be two sets of differencial power supplies needed. The biggest IF is whether or not the total recall part of the rack effects the operation of the dynamics cards. If the cards are dependent on a control voltage or signal coming from the total recall rack to function you could be in trouble. If you can get a dynamics card and reverse engineer it you might be in business. I doubt it will slot into the recycled audio rack because the X-Logic cards come with XLR connectors already attached. It is a very different pinout design from previous SSL console modules. |

I think the Recycle rack is based on the 5k series which had an odd connector, wherE as the X rack is a card connector (bit like a PCi card). Would like to see a small box that could hold a couple of X modules and excited by the "future expansion" options. That X comp kicks butt, and then goes back and kicks it some more |
