I would like to purchase a stereo ribbon mic. My main pres are Millennia and Crane Song Spider. Will these pres both power these microphones to the necessary level? I'd like to record Choirs and maybe some Solo Classical Piano. What othe mic options do i have for this type of recording? |

well for one, the SF24 is active and will work with almost any preamp. the SF12 requires a little more gain for quieter sources, which i suppose could be a piano depending on the player and how he/she plays, and the room, etc. the preamps you have should work fine. |

Both the SF-12 and SF-24 work exceedingly well for piano and for choir pickup. The Millennia will be fine for either mic. Even better is the AEA Ribbon Preamp. For the choir in particular you may want to also evaluate the AEA R-88 or spaced mono pickups with the AEA R-84s or the Royer SF-1s.
