Anybody have an opinion? I am looking for a nice high end pair of phones as an emergency mix solution if a studio sounds like total crap. So far they are in the lead. Do they sound worse with less power? Any others worth trying?

I track with dt770's and like them quite a bit. I find the fabric wrapped phones to be the most comfortable for long periods of use. They also don't hype any frequencies to a noticeable degree - pretty transparent. They're probably suitable as much as a closed back headphone could be for mixing in the cans. Yet, most people seem to prefer Sennheiser's open backed phones which run at least $200 more than the Beyer's. |
