Cabling questions

Hello!

I'm about to rebuild my cabling because I have too many low-grade/suspicious/otherwise shitty in appearance/construction and I DO suffuer from RFI sometimes.

I have already started the project with with renewing the patch bay cabling and some other unbalanced synth etc. cabling, all of my patch cables are now Schulz patch cables with metal connectors, i guess the cable itself was IK3 (0.2mm core, wound screen). The other new cables are made of Schulz IK5 cable (0.2mm core, braided screen and probably conductive plastic too) and Amphenol steel/aluminum phono plugs (which are quite nice).

Is anyone familiar with Schulz cables? What about Klotz? I'd like to try some Klotz YK but that is not availeable anywhere near me.

There will be also couple multicores, brands are fostex and hosa and then there is one 16-core which brand I don't know but it looks decent.

I have access rto wast ammount of old ethernet coax cable, some with braided screen and some with braid & foil. Is this kind of cable usable in audio applications( cable is NOT 75/50 ohm)? I was thinking of making my "permanent" installation with it because the good screening appeals to me Some propellerhead guy told me that such cables may reduce bass response/making this sounds brighter but I don't know about that...

I have been trying to do to some research but I'm still quite lost with what would be good practice in cabling, I'd appreciate if someone would share his/hers opinioins/experiences about cabling/cables. If you have some good places inside EU where I could mailorder some quality cablegoods, i'd be happy hear about it.
