Thread Starter | 4110 and 4 710 d redundant?
long story short,i got the 4 710d which it has been good to me.
but i had this chance of buying the UA 4110 i have read and heard really good things about it had i though i won't have another chance to get it,so i bought it.
Now that i have them on front i just can't help but to think they really look alike (you know the high z inputs and a little bit the lay out)but do they sound the same or are different type of beasts ,do they complement each other?.
i know some people would say try by yourself,of course i will; but i only have three days to turn it back so i would really appreciated your respected opinion in this high end forum.anybody has tried both ? is it a good complement for each other? thank you

Try them out and tell us what you think, maybe?
Sorry, but having them at your disposal and asking for anonimous opinions sounds really weird to me.

I've never put them side by side, but their designs are not similar from what I remember reading.
I would imagine that they don't sound too much alike, but you have the luxury telling us whether or not they do.

Really dig the 4110 unit. The new 4-710 not so much.
Take a few minutes to a/b them and I'm sure you'll come to the same conclusion.

Carlos | Not that weird. Environments chance perception , the room , monitor chain , instrument and so on!, maybe I can a/ b them with a guitar, but maybe somebody else on this forum tried them in drums or a cello, I just reaching out for someone else experiences and conclusions !
Thanks to everybody.

had the 4110 for years. mediocre pre at it's best. not really bad but nothing special with a lot of technical failures. for that money i would take 4 (or 8?) Sytek pre's without a second thought.

Big 4110 fan here. I have run it for years right next to my Shadow Hills Quad Gama. To me, the tone shaping options on the 4110 give me more (different) flexibility than the tranny options on the SHQG. Different beasts for sure. Love them both, won't ever get rid of them. Absolutely love the 4110 on toms. Just tracked a wonderful female singer (sounds like Ingrid Michaelson) with an SM7 through the 4110. No compression or eq on the way in and it is a finished track. Granted, she is a world class talent, but this combo worked like a champ on her voice. Big thumbs up for the 4110. Just my 2 cents.

So I believe that 4110 through jdk comp and eq pair with a blue kiwi mic would be a pretty decent vocal chain, what do you guys think ?

I would love to have a 4110 as I hear nothing but good things from long-term users. However, the 4-710D doesn't get the same kind of love and is frequently sold off after a few projects, sometimes after one project.
That tells me a lot. granted, I'm sure some lovers of the 710 will prolly dispute this...YMMV

Thanks to everybody. | Sorry about that, I see that I got slightly harsh.
But please never underestimate how words on a forum chance facts and understanding too. I guess that was my point.
Ayway! How do they compare to you? Did you getany chance to compare them??
Regards,
