1ru mic pre - for portability

I'm in a bit of a bind here and need some adivce. I do a lot of voiceover work and am in the process of moving. During the move, I may not have access to my equipment for a period of two to three weeks, so I went out and purchased a first revision MBox and am looking for a good 1ru mic pre. My current preamps are Requisite Audio PAL Plus Mk IIIs. While I would like to continue with a high quality tube preamp, I'm open to additional suggestions which provide lots of headroom and excellent results. I'm using is a Sennheiser 416. A compressor would also be a great addition but may not be a reality.

How about the new API A2D? That's a 1u piece that also has a A/D converter, and if you don't like the converter, you're not stuck using it.

Another vote for the A2D (if you can get one quickly -- there a bit back-ordered).

If it's not readily available, look at the Portico 5012 dual channel (1/2 rack) the Great River ME-1NV mono (1/2 rack) or the GR MP-2NV dual channel (1U rack). All great-sounding pres, and compact. The 1/2 rack units have rack-mount kits available.

if youre not using something like the API 7600...you could assemble a truly amazing vocal chain with the Millennia TD-1 and a LA-3 (reissue excellent)

I have to admit, I've owned Millennia in the past and it really did not impress me as it has others and I don't record voice with compression at all these days but I certainly understand where you coming from. I'll check out the Buzz MA-2.2, the API gear and a John Hardy M1. Most of the post studios I am in seem to use Focusrite Red One preamps these days which originally had me thinking a 1272 would fit the bill, not to mention the fact that I've got two Voxboxes literally sitting in boxes that I can't seem to unload and I don't want to take any risk damaging them in a portable setup.
