recording 24bit @ 44.1khz sounding fatter with more bass compared to 24 bit @ 48khz w

Hi Everyone

Recording 44.1khz vs 48 khz

Has anyone experienced recording 24bit @ 44.1khz sounding fatter with more bass end. Compared to 24 bit @ 48khz which to me has more top end and less bass compared to 44.1 khz.

24bit @ 44.1khz = more bass, rounder, and deeper in sound,
24 bit @ 48khz = more top end, not deep in the low end.

Any comments on this would be appreciated.

Thank you.

JOHN

I record 24 bit 44.1 all the time
because I like the way it translates to CD 16 bit 44.1

For us using ProTools HD for rap/r&b 24/44.1 is the standard

well, I certainly notice better top med ( and oddly enough midrange ) at 48K, but the bottom does not change here.. perhaps it is the clearer top that is making it seem like the bottom is less? also, diffrent converters act different ways.. the dreaded 888/24 for example, sounds a helluva lot better at 48K then 44.1K . I did the comparison again the other day for a hoot and was still surprised.d
