Blue Bottle

Ok, I don't do this very often, but I had to gush over something for a minute. I've been using a Blue Bottle on a male bass vocal for a couple sessions lately. Wowowowooww. As soon as dude started signing, my head jerked faster than a Charlie Sheen coke relapse. Seriously, his voice sounded incredible through that mic. It was so flattered and sounded expensive, gorgeous.

There was nothing fancy, no trickery. Just a Blue Bottle into a Portico Pre. No eq, no compression. Just straight in.

Anyways, I tried to search, but most stuff was on the Baby Bottle and didn't want to sift through 13,000 threads to find the 3 about the real Bottle.

Anyone else have this experience with this mic???

Yep, I love my Blue Bottle - it's a solid, great sounding workhorse with tons of flexability with the different capsules (I have the b6, b7 and b8). I haven't wanted for another vocal mic since I got it.

Curious which capsule you were using.

Hey JROD, I agree it's a special mic. We actually have clips of the BLUE Bottle with every single capsule swapped out one after the other, all done in the same session. The real standout capsules I have always felt are the:

B0
B4 (omni)
B6
B7

and they complement each other well with not much overlap in their curves / response.

Yeah man, that thing is sick. Seriously, I never go "wow". I did with that. Given this guy is a great singer with a very strong voice, but damn this thing is flattering. Don't think I can quite afford one for quite a while. *dreams*
